Palate

The final cuvée is dense and delicious, with flavors of plum, blueberry, blackberry, chocolate, rose and sandalwood. On the palate, it possesses Pride’s signature “unctuousness” – a roundness and opulence in the mid-palate that balances the weighty finish of our Mountain wines.

Growing Conditions

The vineyards at Pride Mountain Vineyards possess the ideal conditions for ripening Cabernet Franc, and this wine is always one of our most unique and special offerings. Our Cabernet Franc is planted on some of our steepest hillside terraces and slopes where the weak soils are able to adequately stress this vigorous grape variety, limiting its shoot growth and concentrating its flavors into tiny berries. While the 100% Cabernet Franc tasted delicious in barrel, we found that blending in 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot added dimension and complexity to the wine.
