Sophisticated dark fruit and blackberry aromas

Palate

Carefully unfolding layers of blueberries, wild blackberries, a touch of tobacco leaf and leather with earthy minerality. This beautifully structured wine is a wonderful food wine that complements many dishes. The tannins are well integrated, making the wine very approachable. Ready to enjoy now. Age worthy 8 years from vintage date.

Growing Conditions

The grapes are grown in Sonoma Valley, Lake County and Napa Valley. Lake County is one of the oldest California wine growing areas (15 miles from Napa Valley) with vineyards of deep volcanic soils and elevations ranging from 1300-1700 feet resulting in great acidity and rich flavors.

The vintage year of 2010 had a cooler growing season resulting in approachable, elegant wines with a firm structure, reminiscent of a Bordeaux vintage.
