Growing Conditions

The vineyard is located in the Oak Knoll District Appellation, Napa Valley, which has the warmth of the valley yet also enjoys the cool breezes of the San Francisco Bay, providing beautiful acidity- the ingredients of a great food wine.

The 2008 vintage was a bold vintage with intensity and full body. It had a dramatic growing season, with damaging vineyard buds and heat spikes during bloom in May and in August. It delivered a very small crop due to these extremes but had exceptional quality. The vintage produced wines that are very rich and full-bodied and well-balanced, with plenty of tannins for aging.
