Palate

A silky food wine has firm acidity, a moderate alcohol level and the oak and approachable tannins are balanced. A bold Cabernet Sauvignon with lively notes of black current, tobacco, a hint of nutmeg and Syrah’s attributes of leather, black pepper. Drinkable now. Cellar worthy for 10-12 years.

Growing Conditions

The O’Connell Family Estate Vineyard is in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, that benefits from the cool down effect of late morning fog from the San Francisco Bay. The result is crisp acidity. The warm daytime temperatures slowly ripen the fruit for layers of red fruit deliciousness.

The 2005 vintage was an elegant vintage with beautiful balance.
