Nose

Aromas of
ripe blackberry, black cherry and cassis.

Palate

Hints of sweet French
oak lead you into the first sip confirming this is a special wine.
The wine is full, yet soft in the mouth, dense and structured with
mouth coating velvety tannins. Flavors on the palate match
the aromas of ripe black fruits layered with toasty, elegant
oak components. The flavors persist with good balance and
tremendous length. The 2006 Cabernet will benefit from a few
years in the cellar and will be at its best from 2012 to 2020.

Growing Conditions

The 2006 growing season had its challenges early on, but
came through with ideal conditions for a late harvest. The year
started with flooding (including at the winery) and wet weather
continued into spring delaying budbreak. Sun in early summer
dried out the soils and encouraged flowering and fruit set. Then
record heat in July pushed vine growth along quickly, helping
offset the effects of late budbreak. More moderate weather
prevailed during August, September and October, allowing
Cabernet grapes in the Revana Vineyard to mature fully and
evenly.

Harvest

We began picking the first blocks of the vineyard on
October 10th and finished with our last pick on November 2nd –
a record late harvest for Revana.

Aging

20 months in French Oak. 12 month bottle aging.

Appearance

The 2006 Revana Cabernet is deep ruby in color.
