Nose

Aromatically nuanced with hints of
violet-dusted black licorice, cedar-smoked cherries and dark
chocolate.

Palate

Balanced and harmonious on the palate, revealing a
plush texture and layers of flavors led by cassis and caramel and
wrapped by mineral and graphite notes. The long sophisticated
finish echoes delicious fruit and mineral flavors over a frame of
supple tannins.

Growing Conditions

The 2009 growing season was a welcome one. Mild and long,
with an ideal balance of weather and time for maturity that led
to exceptional wines. Late spring rains kept the vines satiated
while warm weather in June helped limit vine vigor. We
experienced consistent temperatures through the summer with
only a handful of days over 100 degrees allowing fruit maturity
to progress evenly.

Aging

20 months in French Oak. 12 month bottle aging.
