Nose

Aromas of lavender, cassis and
earthy wild berry, this wine displays great depth.

Palate

The 2008 vintage is opulent and well-balanced. It boasts
stunning concentration on the palate with dark cherry, cacao,
coffee bean and a hint of caramel. Finishing with full-boded
tannins, this wine exhibits an undeniable finesse.

Growing Conditions

For Revana Family Vineyard, the 2008 winegrowing season had
its extremes: Extreme cold, extremely low yields and extremely
good Cabernet Sauvignon. Early 2008 was dry with very little
rainfall through Spring. Then in late April and early May, hard
frosts hit the valley. It was so cold that our frost protection
systems were useless and like much of Napa Valley we
experienced damage to the sensitive new growth on the vines.
The rest of the growing season was hot and dry from midMay
through August. The frost damage and low rainfall led to
extremely low yields. Our total harvest for the 2008 vintage was
40 percent lower than our average yield. Fortunately the low
yields also translated into wines of great concentration, richness
and purity. Unfortunately, there is much less of 2008 Revana
Cabernet.
