Palate

The resulting wine expresses heady flavors of green apple, pineapple, lilac, honeysuckle and lychee, complemented by a cool acidity and just the slightest kiss of oak-induced roundness and depth.

Growing Conditions

The 2013 Vintner Select Chardonnay features a blend of our original block of clone 4 fruit, as well as a five year old block of clone 96, and for the first time, a bit of fruit from our new Figtree block planted to a heritage Wente selection.

Bottling

Bottled: July 2014.

Winemaking

Night-picked grapes were cold-pressed, settled, and then fermented in French oak (20% new).

Fermentation: 20% New French Oak, 80% Neutral French Oak.

Aging

Aged sur lies for nine months prior to racking and bottling.

Cooperage: 20% New French Oak, 80% Neutral French Oak.
