Nose

Bountiful aromas of ripe cherry and cassis mingle with smoky oak nuances.

Palate

Immense, round and sweet on the mid palate, soft tannins linger with ripe berry flavors. Finish tannins provide the essential grip for long term cellaring. As this wine ages and its tannins soften further, the finish may last for days! This wine is truly the best of the best, and will continue to improve for decades.

Growing Conditions

High on the mountaintop where Cab is King, this 100% varietal was produced from three of the most awesome Cabernet lots this vineyard has ever produced. The ’96 Cabernet vintage on the mountain can only be called great – the most extracted lots that are assembled here are unbelievable.
