Nose

Starts off light in body with moderate intensity on the nose. Aromas not only of fruit, but of fruit liqueur. Creme de cassis and black cherry liqueur, alcohol-infused maraschino cherries, followed closely by black cherry and ripe black plum pulled straight from the tree.

Palate

A bouquet of cigar spice, tobacco leaves and leather, all building up to a rich impression of oak on the palate. Flavors of caramel bacon, maple, and brown sugar elegantly take over for a lasting finish. In time, the oak will mellow and the fruit will brighten, and once the tannin—while rough now—begins to soften, this will prove to be a wine of purity and elegance.
