Palate

This wine shows the earthiness of Cabernet Franc and the polish of Cabernet Sauvignon. This hearty wine has aromas and flavors cassis, black coffee, earthy tobacco and dark chocolate. The oak tannins are well integrated.
Drinkable upon release. We expect the 2012 vintage to be a long-lived wine.

Growing Conditions

The Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the family’s organically grown O’Connell Family Estate Vineyard French Gate, Olive and Apple Blocks. The fruit from these blocks are perfect fro cask 321- bold and expressive. The Cabernet Franc is grown in the Oak Knoll District, where cooler days allow a longer hang time to fully develop flavors.

The 2012 vintage has elegance and beautiful balance with well articulate fruit expression.

Aging

36 months in new French Oak of medium plus toast
