Palate

This wine has the estate distinction: Complex minerality with underlying cassis, thyme and lavender. Amazing red fruit aromatics! Drinkable NOW. Lovely to drink for 2-3 years because it is Cabernet!

Growing Conditions

This was another year that created beautifully structured wines. The O’Connell Family Estate Vineyard is in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, that benefits from the cool down effect of late morning fog from the San Francisco Bay. The result is crisp acidity. The warm daytime temperatures slowly ripen the fruit for layers of red fruit deliciousness.

Winemaking

The Saignée method of Rosé production involves bleeding off fresh juice from the OCFV O’Connell Family Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It has skin contact for only a few days.

Aging

No oak, only stainless steel.
