Growing Conditions

This flagship Cabernet from LOBO comes from the kind of vineyards everyone is looking for—rocky, volcanic soil at 1350 foot elevation, with predominantly a southern and western exposure. Because we close-row plant all of the vines, they struggle not only with the soil but also their root proximity to other vines. This means less fruit but wonderfully concentrated, complex flavors.

This wine truly reflects the unique terroir that is Atlas Peak. By holding the alcohol to 13.7%, the wine still stays in balance and will not overwhelm food.
