Nose
Pretty, floral aromatic note.
Palate
Our 2011 has been praised for tasting as good as a high-end Bordeaux, with a much more palatable price.
Growing Conditions
Paradiso is the proprietary name for our Bordeaux-style red wine that changes in varietal composition from vintage to vintage. The Cabernet comes from three different vineyard locations: Gerlach Vineyard in the Coombsville appellation which brings color and fine-grained tannins; head-trained, 40-year old vines from Preston Vineyard in Rutherford, a site that produces bright, very fruit-forward wines with a ripe, dusty note; and the gravelly-soils of Morisoli Vineyard on the Rutherford Bench, where volcanic deposits as well as alluvial deposits produce big, muscular Cabernets. The Merlot is from our Henry Ranch in Los Carneros, where the deeper soils near Carneros Creek provide excellent pigment and fine-grained tannins in the wine. A dose of Cabernet Franc brings a pretty, floral aromatic note. Petite Verdot comes from Vittorio's Vineyard, our certified organic vineyard adjacent to V. Sattui Winery in St Helena. And lastly, Malbec adds a dark, inky color to this elegant blend.
