Nose

Lush aromas of black cherry and dark chocolate fade into notes of rich toffee enticing you to take that first sip. Rutherford dust and savory tobacco, round out the nose exuding a wine of pure luxury.

Palate

Round and polished on the palate with juicy brambleberry and plum intertwined with refined tannins and a hint of cocoa powder, this wine exudes the depth and complexity that is the James O’Neil Cabernet Sauvignon.

Growing Conditions

This vintage will be remembered as one of the best ever for Napa Valley, and recalled the classic vintages that built Napa’s world class reputation. Summer and fall brought warm temperatures, but no heat waves, and a return to the classic Valley diurnal cycle. The results were moderate alcohol and crisp acidity with deep, rich color saturation and intense tannins, inviting comparisons with 2001, 2002 and 2007, but at record crop levels.
