Nose
It has aromas of cigar box, cherries and dark chocolate.
Palate
On entry, it offers broad and dense depth of meaty and herb flavors. The mid-palate is plush and expansive but belies that this is a more savory than fruity wine at this stage. The finish is medium in length with good acidity. Decanting suggested. Given proper cellaring, this wine can be enjoyed now through 2019.
Appearance
Our 1995 Alexander Valley has a garnet hue with some slight browning at the rim.
