Nose

Diverse and interesting aromatics offer notes of violets, raspberry, thyme and a faint hint of coconut.

Palate

On the palate, this is still a structured wine, with strong tannins and a vanilla sweetness upon entry seamlessly leading into a balanced mid-palate with depth, structure and bright acidity. It offers a very long finish marked by dried fruit flavors that linger. Decanting suggested. Given proper cellaring, this wine can be enjoyed now through 2023.

Appearance

Our 1996 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is still a somewhat shy and brooding wine with a crimson hue.
