Nose
While a mature wine, it shows liveliness in its cigar box and tea leaf aromatics.
Palate
The attack has ample acidity and transitions to flavors of tarragon and earth on the mid-palate. It has a sweet texture and is elegant and evolved with a long, seamless, and tart finish that suggests there is more life to come. Decanting suggested. Given proper cellaring this wine can be enjoyed now through 2019.
Appearance
Our 1985 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a ruby red color with bricking at the edges.
