Nose

In your glass the wine introduces itself with enticing aromas of red and black fruit, baking spice, dark violets, lavender, wet stone, and cinnamon.

Palate

The promise of all the delicious complexity is fulfilled with a racy Cabernet Sauvignon full of energy – juicy flavors of red plum, cherry, cassis, black tea, and cola – all beautifully packaged together with ripe, bright tannins.

Growing Conditions

Today we are 100 percent solar powered, we reuse and recycle our water, make our own compost for fertilizer. We partner with owls, songbirds, hawks, bats and other wildlife to cultivate successful vineyards and rely on cover crops to help control insects that would otherwise blight our vines.

One Point Five is predominately from two Stags Leap District sites — Shafer’s hillside estate vineyard and “Borderline” vineyard located about two miles south of the winery.

A lengthy, warm summer allowed the fruit to hang in near ideal conditions for a long, long time producing clusters of fruit.

Aging

Aged over 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels.

Appearance

A deep garnet-purple color.
