Shafer Vineyards has been making wines in Napa Valley's Stags Leap District since 1978. The Shafer family owns and farm 220 acres of vineyards, sources for Shafer's signature wine, Hillside Select, as well as One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon, TD-9, Chardonnay, and Relentless (Syrah).

Relentless is a Syrah blend that Shafer has produced since the 1999 vintage. It's typically a composed of about 90% Syrah, 10% Petite Sirah with fruit from vineyards in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains just south of Napa Valley's Stags Leap District.
