Growing Conditions

Seavey's seventh estate produced Merlot, the 2000 was made from grapes grown primarily on a gradually sloping east-facing block near the top of the vineyard. A nearly perfect growing season with moisture early on followed by warm, moderate weather through bloom and fruit set, we experienced a few very warm days in mid-September followed by cool temperatures with periods of unseasonable showers. As usual, we held off picking until the fruit was completely mature.
