Nose
The generous aromatics reveal notes of violets, leading into ripe plum and toasted brioche. Layers of brown sugar and black cherry complete the bouquet.
Palate
Ripe black cherry with hints of dark chocolate coat the palate, giving way to savory black olive tapenade before showing notes of crème brûlée on the long, lingering finish.
Growing Conditions
In 2015, only the four highest quality vineyard blocks were selected from the eight in our Estate Vineyard to craft a wine with a true sense of place as a representation of vineyard and vintage.
The 2015 growing season started early and warm, but due to some high wind events which resulted in shatter, the vintage yield was reduced dramatically early on. Thankfully, from that point forward, the growing season was exceptional, and the vines focused their full energy on the fruit that remained. This produced a wine of extraordinary concentration and riper tannins that will age gracefully for years to come.
