Nose

This wine opens with invigorating notes of tangerine, freshly
cut pineapple, lemon grass, and graphite.

Palate

The palate picks up
flavors of pear, grapefruit, and apple finishing with a satisfying
combination of creaminess, crisp acidity, and a hint of mineral.

Growing Conditions

The grapes for the Napa Valley White Meritage come from our
estate vineyards in Jameson Canyon and select Napa Valley
growers located in Chiles Valley District and Yountville. The
estate vineyards are planted on rolling hills at the southern end
of Napa Valley, where the growing conditions are very similar
to Carneros, the neighboring appellation just west of the Napa
River. Winds flow through Jameson Canyon, carrying in the
cooling influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean, providing a long,
cool growing season that enhances the intensity of the
Sauvignon Blanc flavors.

The 2013 vintage in Napa Valley was one of the earliest
harvested vintages in years. A warm spring led to early bud
break and created the perfect environment for flowering and
fruit set. With warm days and cool nights, our team was able to
maintain ideal acid levels with optimum, bright fruit flavors.

Winemaking

Using no malolactic fermentation, a mix of native and
inoculated yeasts and 8 months of sur-lie aging.

Aging

This Napa
Valley White Meritage is aged in 100% French oak barrels
(10% new) from the center of France.

Food Pairing

This makes the perfect pairing for Vietnamese spring rolls,
grilled prawns, or four cheese pizza.
