Nose

This particular vintage opens with enticing
notes of white pepper and star anise.

Palate

Our 2014 District Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied, wellbalanced
wine. Deep red fruit and spice
seductively tempt the palate providing a long, deep finish with a
touch of minerality. The great structure and well balanced
tannins allow for immediate enjoyment.

Growing Conditions

The 2014 vintage in Napa Valley was one of the earliest
harvested vintages in years. A warm spring led to early bud
break and created the perfect environment for flowering and
fruit set. With warm days and cool nights, our team was able to
maintain ideal acid levels with optimum, bright fruit flavors.

We sourced Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from prominent Napa
Valley appellations: Diamond Mountain, Oakville, Oak Knoll,
St. Helena and Stags Leap, resulting in a fun and diverse wine
to make.

Winemaking

The grapes were fermented on the skins for 27-29
days with pumpovers twice daily. After fermentation, the wine
is gently pressed and racked.

Aging

Aged in 100% French oak barrels,
with 40% new oak. Tightly grained Demptos, Saury and
Chalafour barrels were selected because of their availability to
slowly impart oak to the wine for a consistent, well-rounded
aging process while yielding subtle oak influences to the
Cabernet Sauvignon.
