Nose

The 1 ½ Acre opens with alluring aromas of rose petal and fresh
golden raspberry with floral notes.

Palate

This soft and supple blend
emanates baking spice, star anise and notes of an earthy forest
floor with a soft white peppery spice finish. Well-balanced, this
wine will age beautifully for another 25 to 30 years but is very
inviting right now.

Growing Conditions

2013 was the inaugural harvest of our meter by meter planting at
Raymond Vineyards. Our estate is planted to all 5 varietals of a
classic Bordeaux blend and designed to be the truest expression of
terroir from our site. This vintage also marks the first year that
our vineyards were officially certified both organic and
Biodynamic®.

The 2013 vintage in Napa Valley was one of the earliest harvested
vintages in years. A warm spring led to early bud break and
created the perfect environment for flowering and fruit set. With
warm days and cool nights, our team was able to maintain ideal
acid levels with optimum, bright fruit flavors.

Harvest

Harvested on October 12th, a fruit day in
accordance with the Biodynamic® calendar, the grapes were in
their optimal state for the wine to realize its full potential.

Winemaking

The grapes
underwent an extended maceration and sat on the skins for 27 day
before a native fermentation which lends complexity and depth to
the wine before being racked to medium toast,

Aging

French oak barrels
for about 19 months of aging. Only our best Demptos barrels
were selected for this Red Wine.
