Nose

The nose projects bright aromas of plum, cranberry, caramel, cherry, salt water taffy and subtle floral notes.

Palate

On the palate, the wine is silky and mouth-filling, with a lively acidity, thick mid-palate, and fully integrated tannins. A rare treasure and a pleasure to taste!

Growing Conditions

Our 2012 Sangiovese was produced from just two rows of grapevines on the sunny plateau we call Lower Mountain Top, nestled in between the merlot vines that provide the source for our Reserve Claret.

Bottling

Bottled: Dec. 2013.

Winemaking

This year, we found that blending in 13% of that very merlot provided the texture and intensity that made this wine complete.

Fermentation: Stainless steel.

Aging

Cooperage: French Oak.
