Palate

The aromas and flavors speak of white peach, ripe pear, slight leeche with a backbone of lemon zest. It is crisp but has a round, smooth and juicy mouthfeel. The oak does not dominate but is the structure within which the wines express its varietal characteristics and terroir. The influence of malolactic- its butteriness- makes the wine inviting. Drinkable Now. Age worthy for 6-8+ years from Vintage date.

Growing Conditions

A luscious expression of the Oak Knoll District Appellation terroir: with temperatures cooler than upper Napa Valley, it gets the best of all attributes- enough heat to ripen the fruit to express lovely fruit and citrus flavors; cool enough to maintain acidity for a crisp and juicy Chardonnay.

Produced in the classic French style- the fruit dominates with just enough oak to give body and enough malolactic fermentation to make the wine smooth and creamy. The end result… a delicious food and sipping wine. This wine is produced from Wente Clone.
