Nose

Apricot and guava with hints of orange blossom and jasmine on the nose.

Palate

Intense flavors of white peach, apricot, and creme brulee with a subtle hint of oak on the finish.

Growing Conditions

Morning fog from the Pacific Ocean tempers warm summer days, the Louvau Vineyard has a great balance of maritime and inland climates. The 2016 Louvau Vineyard Viognier is a classically fine formed white that is aromatic and expressive.

Food Pairing

This wine is excellent paired with soft and semisoft cheeses such as fresh chevre, gruyere, aged Gouda, and triple creams like Cowgirl Creamery's Mt. Tam. Another excellent pairing would be with a main course of shrimp or scallops, for instance seared scallops with a bacon marmalade.
