Palate

In Jack London’s ‘White Fang’, a wild beast is tamed and becomes part of the understanding of the frontier that is the Yukon. In Napa, one could say that Mount Veeder has that remaining streak of wildness, and we must tame the tannins on a yearly basis to allow the wines to express the understanding of the Napa Valley frontier. In 2011, tamed tannins reside alongside blackberry, blueberry, espresso, and Asian spice, with floral aromatics and an intense, long finish.
