Nose

Black cherries, cherry blossom, lavender honey, and orange rind are beautifully melded in the aroma.

Palate

The mouth is creamy, bright, and has pleasing gentle warmth that carries on for minutes.

Growing Conditions

Vintage 2012 was considered ‘perfect’ by the prognosticators as soon as the last grapes were making their way to the wineries. It was perfect in the sense that quality and quantity benefited both grower and winemaker. The weather cooperated throughout all critical parts of the growing season to produce beautifully ripe and flavorful fruit.
Despite the ripeness of the vintage, our experience with growing Pinot Noir here in the rugged mountains allowed us still to produce a wine of elegance and balance. Though slightly higher in alcohol than the 2011, the 2012 possesses the delicate varietal traits we prize.

20% of barrels went through Malolactic fermentation; 100% barrel fermented
