Palate
As with many world-class Merlots, red fruits dominate the nose with baskets of fresh cherries and raspberries balanced with sweet spices and freshly roasted espresso beans.
This 2017 is mouth-filling and plush on the palate with darker tones of chocolate and blackberry lifted by a subtle finish of cedar and oak. The tannins are long and soft, and this wine lingers pleasantly, evoking the memories of warm summer days in the Napa Valley.
While most enjoyable now, this wine is certainly built to last many years with a drinking window of 2021 to 2030.
Aging
22 months, 70% new french oak
Appearance
Rooted in the noble Merlot grape variety this beautiful blend is an ethereal homage to the ‘Right Bank’ tradition of Bordeaux. Its impeccable ruby color shines brightly in the glass with intensity at the core giving way to a softer garnet rim.
