Palate

Our Moscato is a vibrant wine with delicate floral aromas and lovely notes of spearmint and citrus.

Growing Conditions

The grapes for the 2014 vintage come from a single vineyard in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley. This vineyard was planted in 2003 in deep, fertile soil. Its vertical trellis is trained to a cordon, and grapes are handpicked at the peak of ripeness.

Aging

Delicate handling of Moscato is essential in creating a smooth wine. Grapes were de-stemmed without crushing and immediately pumped to our tank press where the juice was gently squeezed from the berries. The juice was then pumped to a stainless steel fermentation tank where it was chilled and settled for two days. The wine was then racked off the grape solids and inoculated with a pure strain of wine yeast. Fermentation proceeded at a cool 50˚F to preserve the lovely fruit character of the grape. This wine was kept in temperature-controlled stainless tanks and was not oak aged.

Food Pairing

Enjoy this wine with chicken salad with mixed greens or with summer berries like ripe raspberries.
