Growing Conditions

Les Voisins Syrah originates from vineyards in Yorkville Highlands that share not only a property line but also schist soils reminiscent of the northern Rhône. It is these soils that contribute to the spiciness and backbone of this Syrah. These vineyards are the source of two of our Single Vineyard bottlings.

Harvest

Harvested September 2015. The 2015 vintage will be remembered for high quality and lower yields. The growing season started out with unseasonably warm temperatures in late winter and early spring. Cooler temperatures in May caused some uneven fruit set that contributed to smaller yields at some of our sites. We had the earliest start to our harvest ever, and our earliest finish. The quality and purity of the fruit from this vintage produced wines with outstanding flavors and aromatics. We are excited to see our wines from this vintage develop.
