Ca´ Momi may be built on Napa Valley soil, but it is rooted in soulful Italian tradition. Keeping that tradition alive is important to founders Valentina Guolo-Migotto, Dario De Conti and Stefano Migotto, who started the winery together in 2006.; "In Italy, wine is on every dinner table, 365 days a year," said Dario. From the award-winning Rosso di Napa to the lightly sparkling Ca´ Secco, Ca´ Momi wines are crafted to bring joy to the table of everyday life. Their 50 years of combined experience in the wine consulting and winemaking business have given them access to some of Napa Valley's best fruit whether from Ca´ Momi's Carneros vineyard properties, or from established growers valley-wide.; Ca´ Momi's name derives from a famous past resident of Torreglia, Italy the owners' hometown whose obsession with his house, grapes and wine are notorious around the Veneto region. All three owners like to believe that the protective ghost of Momi watches over their property and vineyards, and that his spirit, too, is captured in their wines.

Dario grew up on his family’s farm in Veneto, Italy. He began formal education in enology at age 14, and ten years later received his Masters’ degree in winemaking. Dario funded his decade of tuition payments by working at his family’s pizzeria, where he learned the fine art of the pizzaiolo and ignited a lifelong passion for pizza.

He also found inspiration in Italian wine culture, which treats wine as a joyful part of everyday life, rather than something to show off or put on a pedestal. He pours his playful spirit and loving intention into every heartcrafted wine he makes.

Dario di Conti

Stefano is a third-generation vintner and distiller from Abano Terme in Northern Italy. He grew up helping in his family’s winery from the time he could walk and eventually took over its leadership. After earning an enology degree from Scuola Enologica di Conegliano, Stefano moved to the United States with 12 years of winemaking experience and a taste for new adventures.

Stefano is a hopeless gearhead. He spends most of his time at the winery running production and geeking out on wine equipment. His commitment to authentic, soulful winemaking is surpassed only by his dedication to his children.

This not-too-tannic melody of rich bramble & cassis integrate seamlessly into a subtle landscape of dark, sun-ripened berries, dusty earth & vintage leather. Smooth & supple across the tongue, making for the perfect accompaniment to a classic symphony or a playful springtime lilt.

The Chardonnay ages for about 10 months in barrel (50% French and 50% American oak) and undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation. While the nose exhibits vanilla and green apple, the oak barrel aging imparts additional roundness on the palate, deepening the prevailing flavors of spiced pear and custard.

Our Merlot opens with a striking garnet flush, boasting nuances of luscious red currant and seductive licorice. Meticulous aging in both French and American oak impart provoking vanilla and fine-grained tannins that interlace with baked blackberry, cocoa powder, and Bing cherry notes. A white pepper, oaky finish makes this wine a masterful accompaniment to a wide array of food.

With a larger crop in 2018 than 2017 and slower, steady fruit maturation, the Rosso di Ca’ Momi is a tapestry of bold and balanced flavors. Sourcing fruit from Napa Valley and other AVAs in California, the focus of Rosso is to create a robust, food-friendly wine that compliments a variety of dishes. A combination of French and American oak aging gives the Rosso excellent integration, wrapping an intense wine into a smooth package.

Rosé

This rosé sparkling wine is crafted in small batches to elevate your most simple moments into luxurious celebrations. We instill the Charmat Method (Metodo Italiano) using a soiree of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, adding a liqueur de tirage to our still wine in a sealed tank to induce a second fermentation with CO2. The final wine is bottled under pressure to preserve its sparkling, fresh characteristics of strawberry, watermelon, and citrus blossom.
