Nose

Concentrated grapes produce aromas of ripe blackberry, berry and black cherry. This is complimented by a bouquet of sweet oak, anise, mint, and cocoa.

Palate

The palate is rich with luscious plum and berry flavor, supple tannin and a long warm finish.

Growing Conditions

The Sonoma Valley Merlot is from the Petricka Vineyard just south of the town of Sonoma in the warm alluvial soil of the Mayacamas Mountains. Limited by the sparse soil, this vineyard is naturally stressed, producing limited crop, small loose clusters and very small berries.

Food Pairing

This wine compliments a wide range of grilled meats such as lamb, duck and all cuts of steak and ribs but it is also gentle enough to pair with an apple stuffed pork loin or chicken mole.
