Growing Conditions

Morisoli Vineyard consists of 53 contiguous acres on the famed Rutherford Bench. Gary Morisoli is the fourth generation to grow grapes on this historic property, which has been family-farmed for over 100 years. Surrounded by Staglin Family Vineyard, Scarecrow, Joseph Phelps Vineyards and Inglenook, Morisoli Vineyard fruit exhibits classic “Rutherford Dust” qualities and rich Cabernet Sauvignon character.

2015 was a stellar vintage for Napa winemaking. A cool spring meant smaller grape clusters and resulted in lower yields than usual, while the quality of fruit was exceptional. Warm summer weather brought grapes to optimum ripeness before one of the earliest harvests in memory. The resulting wines show intense aromatics and complex fruit character.

Winemaking

Aromas of coffee beans, black currants and hard herbs like rosemary and thyme. Rich, smooth and silky blackberry coulis with cola soy and lavender. Finish is the classic Rutherford dust flowing into soft powdery tannins of coco and cinnamon that will resolve over aging. A great example of classic Cabernet Sauvignon that is complex and always compelling.

Aging

100% stainless steel fermented. Aged 22 months in 100% new French oak
