Growing Conditions

Morisoli Vineyard consists of 53 contiguous acres on the famed Rutherford Bench. Gary Morisoli is the fourth generation to grow grapes on this historic property, which has been family-farmed for over 100 years. Surrounded by Staglin Family Vineyard, Scarecrow, Joseph Phelps Vineyards and Inglenook, Morisoli Vineyard fruit exhibits classic “Rutherford Dust” qualities and rich Cabernet Sauvignon character. For Amici the 2017 wine grape harvest will truly be remembered as a harvest of teamwork and dedication showed on all levels from our team, colleagues, friends and the first responders that saved our homes and livelihood. The quality of the 2017 vintage is ever present and is producing wines of vibrancy, tenacity and character, much like the traits needed by all who helped the wine industry through such a challenging end to the season.

Winemaking

The 2017 Morisoli is a quintessential Rutherford wine, with rich brambleberry notes and Rutherford dust on the nose. Savory flavors of tobacco, coffee, cocoa and tart cherry create a savory, luscious mouthfeel, laden with blackberry jam, licorice and hints of herbs de Provence through the palate. A pure, silky finish shows bright acidity, mouthwatering redcurrant notes and firm tannins.
