Nose
The dark and exotic nose of the 2012 INEO is exuberant with blackberries, black cherries and espresso-dusted ripe plums underlain by notes of new leather and tobacco.
Palate
Lush and layered palate of mocha infused blackcurrant and loganberry jam complexed by a dollop of ripe Mission fig puree with hints of licorice and clove. Plush and polished throughout, this wine is a pleasure right now but has really only begun to reveal what its blend has to offer.
Growing Conditions
The ideal 2012 growing season was classic Napa Valley – great conditions during budbreak through flowering got things off to a great start followed by a Goldilocks summer of “just right” days and cool, foggy nights. A nice warmer stretch from late July through mid August helped ripen the ample crop and set- up the near perfect September stretch and October finish that gave the fruit the extended hangtime we were hoping for.
