Nose
A nose of blackberry, cedar, oak and spice.
Palate
The wine has a full and rounded mouthfeel with flavors of black fruit, cherry, and scorched earth. The tannins are smooth and balanced, and the finish is long. This is an excellent wine to enjoy with food.
Growing Conditions
Seavey's eighth estate-produced Caravina, the 2006, was made from grapes that came from vines planted in several different locations of the south-facing hillside vineyard. The rich fruit benefited from a hot summer with several heat spikes and an extended growing season with a long harvest that began in mid-August and concluded in mid-October.
