Nose

It enchants the nose with an array
of rich fruit aromas of cooked Bing cherries, ripe raspberry and strawberry reduction
enveloped by touches of briar, espresso spice and dried violets.

Palate

The delightfully supple
palate exhibits unparalleled balance, silky tannins and deep flavors of dark cherry and
boysenberry alongside touches of caramel, baking spice and sugared cinnamon toast
that continue long through the velvety finish.

Growing Conditions

With steadily mild temperatures throughout the
growing season, the 2009 vintage progressed very smoothly and the clusters ripened
evenly.

Harvest

The berries were harvested early September through October and underwent
our rigorous sorting process before crush.

Bottling

Bottling in May 2011.

Winemaking

This vintage remained on the skins for 21 days.

Aging

65% new French oak barrels, where it aged for 18 months.

Appearance

An elegant ruby-purple wine.
