Nose

A magnificent aromatic blend of sweet black cherry, red plum and
blackberry fruit swirling amongst layers of mint chocolate, star anise and sugar cookie
is the signature of this wine.

Palate

The palate echoes the nose, and the entry
is smooth and supple, leading with ripe black raspberry and blackcurrant, followed
by touches of red licorice, sweet basil and cigar box notes. Elegant tannins provide
balance and a robust structure that last throughout the graceful, lingering finish.

Growing Conditions

With consistently mild temperatures throughout
spring and summer, 2012 was a stellar vintage in Napa Valley, allowing slow, even
ripening and yielding exquisite, balanced fruit.

Harvest

The fruit for this wine was harvested at
an optimal level of ripeness in early October. The berries were hand-harvested at night,
carefully sorted and destemmed to tank, where fermentation took place.

Aging

60% new French oak barrels, where it was aged for 18 months prior to
bottling.

Appearance

Deep ruby-black.

Food Pairing

Exhibiting depth and impeccable balance, this Cabernet would pair
wonderfully with dishes from the grill, such as grilled rib-eye with sautéed spinach or
even a simply prepared angus burger. For a cheese course that will amaze, try pairing
this wine with Ubriaco, a hard, aged Italian cheese.
