This wine is a deep and brilliant, exhibiting
aromas of black cherries, red plums, and strawberry jam,
with a hint of clove spice and toasted oak. Floral tones of
violet and lilac highlight the elegant bouquet of this

. In the mouth, this 2012 vintage is a robust,
structured wine. It is dense and layered with big tannins
surrounding a crisp and refreshing acid structure. The
finish is long, with a nice balance of fruit and spices with
cranberry tones, red plums, and fresh cedar wood.

Growing Conditions

Our 2012 Napa Valley Pinot Noir still wine comes
from the Devaux Vineyard in Carneros and is made
in a limited quantity. The Pinot Noir grape is a
primary varietal for our sparkling wines, so it’s a natural
transition for us to use it for a still wine, as well. Our
winemaker, Ludovic Dervin, has a special affinity for the
grape, having spent time making Pinot Noir before
coming to Mumm Napa

Food Pairing

We suggest pairing this Pinot Noir with
game birds and dark poultry, wild mushroom risotto,
lamb shanks, veal, roasted chicken, pasta dishes in
creamy sauces, soft cheeses like Emmental, Morbier
and Limburger.
