Nose

Gentle scents of strawberries and cream.

Palate

Upfront flavors of framboise and watermelon. Rich notes of pomegranate and white tea round out the mid-palate, and the crisp finish has a gentle citrus kiss.

Growing Conditions

2016 was another excellent vintage across the state of California for
wine production, despite an ongoing drought. These grapes were
grown in the heart of Lodi, known for producing vibrant red berries.
Picking in early August allowed us to retain the naturally-occurring
acids in the grapes while benefiting from the exuberant red flavors
for which the region is famous.

Winemaking

This wine was picked at 22 Brix in mid-August and immediately pressed off skins. It was cold fermented for four weeks in stainless steel tanks to retain maximum aromatics. After racking from fermentation lees, the wine was aged in tanks until bottling in February 2016.
