Nose

Begins with the perfumed aromas of fresh baked blackberry tart with hints of clove and black pepper.

Palate

The big fruit flavors of dark bramble berries continue on the palate in a full bodied
manner with a touch of white pepper and vanilla. Finishing boldly with cedar and creamy vanilla.

Growing Conditions

Our 2013 Sangiovese is sourced from vineyards throughout the Napa
Valley. Our winemaker, Shawna Miller, selected these particular
vineyards because of their grower’s dedication to making quality
Sangiovese in Cabernet country. The 2013 harvest was characterized by
ideal moderate-to-warm growing conditions and cool evenings. Because
Sangiovese is an early ripening varietal, these tends to be the first red
grapes we harvest, usually in mid- September.

Bottling

We bottled this wine in July 2015.

Winemaking

After completing fermentation in two weeks, the juice was drained from
the tanks and the remaining must gently pressed straight into barrels.

Aging

This
wine was then barrel aged for fourteen months in 20% new French &
Hungarian oak barrels with the remainder in neutral French Oak. Merlot
and Cabernet Sauvignon were blended to enhance the natural tannin
structure of Sangiovese.
