Nose
The nose has notes of blackberries, the briar patch, cedar, dried herbs and a hint of smoky black tea.
Palate
The palate is structured and refreshingly generous with additional flavors of dried plums, cherry and cola. The well-knit tannins and pleasant mouthwatering acidity support a persistent finish laced with rich notes of cedar and vanilla.
Growing Conditions
The 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon expresses terroir, the personality of our vineyards in a cool growing season, and the positive effects of decades of winegrowing experience in the same place. The 2010 growing season was cool and late. Patience, confidence and hopefulness influenced the picking decisions which were later in the season than any others in Long Meadow Ranch’s history. We were rewarded by fruit that was ripe indeed and classically structured.
Aging
Aged in new and used (50/50) French oak.
Food Pairing
Perfect with LMR Grass-fed Highland beef, with lamb, or with roasted game
