Nose

The 2014 Ladera Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex and finely balanced wine that offers a beautiful expression of its hillside origins. Enticing aromas of intense black cherry and cassis are layered with bursts of cocoa and vanilla.

Palate

The palate is opulent, supported by supple tannins and a silky texture, all leading to a long, flavorful finish.

Growing Conditions

This wine was sourced exclusively from our estate vineyards, which range in elevation from 1,600 to 1,800 feet. These vineyards sit above the fog line, where they benefit from longer sun exposure throughout the growing season. This abundant sunshine, along with distinctive red, volcanic and mineral rich soils, allow the fruit to achieve full physiological ripeness, yielding ripe, flavorful wines with exceptional mountain structure and great aging potential.

In order to extract the maximum mountain-fruit character and depth, the grapes were sorted by hand, de-stemmed without crushing, and cold soaked for 5 to 7 days in small open-top fermenters. The wines were then aged in 94% new premium French oak for 22 months before the final blend was assembled.
