Growing Conditions

The growing season of 2015 was one of the most demanding in recent years. Challenges included the fourth consecutive year of drought, warmer temperatures in January and February, and rain in May. But the season also had several highlights, including a warm and consistent summer; a small, concentrated fruit-set; and ideal ripening conditions. Our east-facing, hillside vineyards where our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown were protected by the surrounding terrain, allowing our fruit to thrive, gaining complexity, intensity and elegance. While limited in production, the 2015 vintage will stand out as one in which our vineyards thrived.

Harvested in the early morning hours on several days between September 24 and October 3, the fruit was brought to the winery cold where it was sorted, de-stemmed and cold soaked for 24 hours before fermentation began.
