Palate

This wine displays aromatic notes of white peach, jasmine and almond blossoms complemented by fresh and crisp flavors, with a touch of natural sweetness.

Growing Conditions

One of our most critically acclaimed wines, Kenwood’s 2014 Pinot Gris was sourced from a pair of vineyards that are located in the renowned Russian River Valley. Here the cool evenings and morning fog preserve the enticing fruit aromas and natural acidity of Pinot Gris.

Bottling

Bottled September 2015.

Winemaking

Harvested on a cool morning in early October, the grapes were swiftly brought to the winery to be pressed. After settling, the juice was fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the natural acidity and fruit flavor of the wine. Before bottling, small amounts of Muscat Canelli and Gewürztraminer were added to the blend to provide additional complexity to the palate and aroma. The resulting wine is well-balanced with excellent flavors that give way to a lingering finish accompanied by a hint of sweetness.

Food Pairing

The subtle fruit character and acidity of Pinot Gris make it an excellent apéritif, or as an accompaniment to a variety of dishes. Try pairing it with pan-seared scallops, shrimp cocktail or lemon garlic chicken.
