Growing Conditions

Two thirds of the fruit for this blend was sourced from Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, renowned for its excellent Chardonnay. The historic California drought continued into the 2015 vintage making for a light crop with intense flavors. Mild dry weather with cool nights extended the growing season, producing Chardonnay with excellent structure and crisp acidity.

Winemaking

After harvest, three quarters of the juice was fermented in French and European oak and aged on the lees for six months to add viscosity and complexity to the blend. The remaining juice was fermented in stainless steel to retain a fresh natural flavor. After fermentation, barrel lots used in the blend underwent a secondary malolactic fermentation to enhance the rich, round flavors.

Aging

6 months in French and European Oak.
