Palate
Black cherry, lavender, chocolate, very Northern Rhône minerality, white flowers, Créme Brûlée with caramelized sugar on top, roasted volcanic earth. As rich as this wine is, it stays very fresh and focused. Flavors and textures that remind me of a great Northern Rhône, with a killer mineral backbone.
Growing Conditions
Well stressed at a 55 degree slope with great iron exposure provides more red notes in the fruit.
Winemaking
10% whole cluster, open top fermentation.
Aging
16 months 30% new French oak, 228L and 350L barrels.
